Bude Jive Club goes from strength to strength with their varied diary of events including beginners and improvers lessons in traditional Rock 'n' Roll jive. The club has been running for a while and meets regularly at the Parkhouse Centre in Bude. Club nights during the winter are on Mondays from 7.30pm until 10pm. They have enthusiastic followers with many local people interested in learning to jive.
The club is run by three women, Judith Smith, Liz Hodgson and Arna Talbot (pictured above). If you need directions, please ring.
Over the past year, band nights have included some excellent groups including Jive Street, Rockin' The Joint and 59 Ford. Bookings for the current year include several top bands.
The club has achieved a good reputation and people comment on the friendly and supportive atmosphere. Past promotional events have proved very successful. At a local carnival they swept the board taking all four trophies and members have participated in a charity run. They also run social evenings visiting other Rock 'n' Roll clubs in the south west.
